Where can I purchase the DVD?
I cannot find it at Amazon.com or at Hastings Music. TIA.
shareI think as it's only just out in the cinema in the USA it won't be on DVD for a while. But you can buy it from UK Amazon or somewhere like that, where it's known as 'Pierrepoint'. It came out here last year.
Mr Maestro - The Friendly Face of Classical Music
I will happily forward you a region free copy (ain't I big hearted? Eh, no I ain't. Discs cost nothing and the postage is washers), but it will be in PAL format which may not play on a US DVD player.
Any chance I could get a copy, too? The film is only being shown in major cities in the U.S., and not until late June. As I live in the middle of Wisconsin, this is a problem. (I could watch it on DirecTV, but for $6.99, and I know from experience any attempt at recording it would be disasterous.)
Let me know. Thanks!
No problems
Email me your name and address and I will send you a copy. But it will be in PAL format, not NTSC, so make sure that your DVD player can handle that.
Sent you a message via IMDb with my address.
shareWell, I'll be seeing it tonite. I just called Hastings and they have it for rent. One of the British posters offered to send it to me last year and I haven't been on the site in awhile. I thank the gentleman for his offer. I will, hopefully, have my own review next week.
I was once invited to attend an execution as a witness for the state, I declined because I had National Guard duty that weekend. I'm not sure I would want to or not to be truthful. I am aslo very undecided on capital punishment.

It probably wouldn't have been worth the trip to an English execution.
Pierrepoint averaged 13 seconds from entering the cell to opening the trapdoor .
There was none of this long walk to the condemed cells and last words lark that you get inthe US
