I thought of that film too, along with the 1989 film _The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover_ with, among others, Helen Mirren, Michael Gambon and Tim Roth. It's showing tonight at 11 CST on the VICE cable channel.

From the description I would make it a double bill with Snowpiercer. Heck, make it a series by adding The Raid and Dredd.

I paired it with Franco's "Venus in Furs". It also shares themes with fight club, lord of the flies, rules of the game, exterminating angel to name a few.

Pair it with the director's earlier film, A Field in England.

Cronenberg's Crash would work too as they are both adaptations of Ballard's novels. I've not seen Shivers yet.
