Death Proof Questions

I just saw the movie last night, and would apprectiate if someone could help me out with these questions:

1) The 3 women who managed to kill Stuntman Mike, would they not all go to prison?

2) Was the cheerleader (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) going to get raped?

3) When was this movie set. Clearly its before Planet Terror (the female doctor being in both the movies) I would of said late 70's/early 80's but judging by the phones they have in Death Proof i would have to say it was much more recent?

1. That doesn't really matter - it's an exploitation film so you can't take it seriously. Setting these movies against reality ruins the fun

2. Who knows? It's up to the individual viewer on what he/she thinks happens

3. I don't think they were supposed to be set in any specific time. Both films look old, yet have modern things like cell phones.

Regarding going to prison, I don't think they will. Everything happened in a lonely stretch of road, so they can just bury Stuntman Mike and claim they got in an accident. Noone is going to look for Mike anyway.

Besides, Earl McGraw already had his suspicions about Mike. The women can say half-truths and claim that a psychopathic maniac attacked them and they killed him in self-defense. That would just validate Earl McGraw's bias against Stuntman Mike so it would be okay for him. Heck, even if the women admit to killing SM out of revenge, Earl would probably be okay with that too.

As for Lee, I don't think she will be raped. Just bored to tears or annoyed at a persistent guy.
