Remind me again how No Country for Old Men's like a 70s grindhouse/exploitation film? Or Paranormal Activity for that matter? And Drive is hardly one either.
Sure they are, Drive's plot completely revolves around the lone anti-hero trope a la Billy Jack or Joe Don Baker in Walking Tall and obvious nods to the character of Kowalski in Vanishing Point without even mentioning how much Brooks and Perlman's characters borrow from classic grindhouse bad guys, No Country For Old Men could have been written by Paul Schrader ffs, etc. For a guy with Lebowski in their avatar name you don't have much of a sense of the Coen brothers influences; Blood Simple and Army of Darkness were both grindhouse homages and the original Evil Dead is old enough to be considered a grindhouse classic itself.
I don't think you have as good of a sense of film history and the themes in grindhouse genres as you think you have, or you wouldn't be questioning the OP's choices, they were spot on...I'd even say your comments are stunningly telling in their ignorance. Why not try out your own list as the OP asked for instead of making stupid criticisms that are without validity?
