Just watched the Blu-Ray Special Edition for the 1st time since 2007.
I am one of the few that actually saw "Grindhouse" while in theaters, and I enjoyed all 3 1/2 hours of the presentation.
I preferred the order it was in, because for me I felt Death Proof was the superior of the two films, but that Planet Terror was more in line with the theme of the reason for Grindhouse in the first place.
You get the fun and disgust of the first film before it rolls into a more serious story with Death Proof.
Now the entire reason I even came to the message board today, was I picked up the Special Edition blu-ray disc of Grindhouse for $9.00 at Wal-Mart and I just watched the entire thing this evening.
I had not seen Grindhouse since the theater experience in 2007, and I am glad that I bought it in this format so as to enjoy the purpose of why it was made....to watch two B-movies back to back.
It is a shame that it was not more successful than it was, because the resurrection of the Grindhouse format was brilliantly done, and who knows we may have gotten a Grindhouse 2 from these guys.
Even thought that never happened this is definitely worth a view if you haven't seen it. I highly HIGHLY recommend seeing it in the Grindhouse version, and not in the separate movie format that was released originally.
8/10.
