Anger

I just saw this movie for the 2nd time with some friends. I enjoyed it all the more because I could look for all the delicious little details that got past me the 1st time. What fun.
I thought Amy Adams did a fabulous job. One part that stood out to me was when she has an epiphany of sorts when she gets angry at Robert. She gets mad and realizes this is a new emotion for her. She goes from anger and frustration to sudden revelation of this new emotion- savoring it, rejoicing in it, and the looking longingly at Robert at the end of the scene.
A lesser actress would not have handled these emotional changes as believably as Ms Adams does. Bravo.

OH my Disney-loving best friend and I laughed at that SO HARD!! XD

"You make me so.....A-ANGRY!"
*Giselle gasps*
"..."
*giggles delightedly*
"I'm angry!" *makes look of glee and then pouts*
".....I'm ANGRY!" *she hits Robert*
Robert: "OW!"

XD

SO FUNNY.Adams was nothing short of brilliant with that scene. I think it's one of the best parts of the whole movie!

The only scene I can remember seeing in a movie which contains this many mood changes in such a short amount of time is near the end of Mrs. Doubtfire, in the restaurant scene when Sally Fields realizes that Mrs. Doubtfire is actually her (separated) husband. She goes through the same kind of epiphany. It goes (innocent) "The whole time?" / (wonderment) "The whole time?" / (anger) "The whole time!" and then (anger) "Don't talk to me!" / (determination) "Don't talk to me" / (frustration) (Don't touch me!) and finally "I have to go" / "We have to leave now" / "I have to go".

It's a brilliant piece of acting, and it's amazing for an actress like Sally or Amy to be able to display that range of emotion in such a short stretch of time, literally seconds, cascading from the depths of one to another to another - and make them all believable with just a moment of two of script and expression.

I have played this scene from Enchanted dozens of times, and I never fail to be impressed with Amy's timing and ability to carry off this transition, as we see Giselle move from "innocent princess" to "real world woman."

OH that scene is SOOOOOOO FUNNY!! XD

And yes, Sally's scene was very similar to Amy's scene. :3 They're both great actresses. XD

I agree. I think she did a great job with the character overall.

Amy actually should have gotten an oscar nomination for Enchanted. She was THAT good. Instead, they made her sing one of the songs live on stage. solo. Really awkward, because the movie is bursting with live and energy and putting her alone on stage was just lame and she was nervous as hell.

I think she did get a Golden Globe nod though. ah well.

It's a classic scene.
She had made the physical transformation from cartoon to human, but it wasn't until that scene where she starts to make the emotional transition.
And Amy Adams is beautiful in it.
