Haven't seen the TV cut, but I'm willing to bet this has nothing on Shanghai Knights. That is one of the worst-edited movies for TV. Not even because of content, but just so they can cram in more commercials. The TV-editing is so sloppy for the TV edition of that film, that it creates wildly blatant plot-holes and continuity problems, and it eliminates several major sub-plots. (At least when I saw it. I think it might have been on Bravo as well, but don't hold me to that)
I only caught the second-half, but if you've seen Shanghai Knights, I recognized the following material cut out for Broadcast and it hurt the film sooooooooo much.
-The entire sup-plot about Roy being the author was removed
-The entire 10-minute "Roy-and-Chon-Break-Up-then-Make-Up" sequence and the accompanying pillowfight was cut out, so at random, after arriving at the hotel, Lin just sort-of flees for no reason (as the scene where she becomes upset and leaves was cut out), then Chon and Roy emerge covered in feathers (which makes no sense as the pillow-fight was cut).
-After being captured, the scene where Chon and Roy escape from being drowned was edited to the point of making no sense. (In the theatrical cut, Chon escapes, fights the guards, the rope holding Roy is cut and they escape. In the TV-edit, Chon escapes, then Roy's line breaks at random, as they escape without any of the action)
-All of the action was butchered.
-Etc.
It was notorious.
What specifically was cut, may I ask?
And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
