I feel like Nancy and Edward were rebounds for each other...

And they deserved better than what they got. More so for Nancy than the prince considering that she's been with Robert for five years and Giselle "steals" Robert away from her. (For lack of a better word). I would have liked it much better if Edward and Nancy did not get together. And the audience should see how Giselle and Robert interact with Nancy and Edward after they defeated the witch. Like really, Nancy (who is in love with Robert) and Edward (who isn't truly in love with Giselle) almost acted like they had no hard feelings towards Giselle and Robert.

i think nancy was so tired of living her life that way without a prince charming and when it was clear robert wasn't going to be the one, she took a chance and did something completely out of character. it happens a lot. its like the pressure builds up and she snaps. she does something she would never normally do but after the emotions running high at the ball, she just couldn't care what happened to robert and giselle in the end, she took the chance before she could talk her way out of it and be her normal sensible self
