Ball gowns

I love how at the Ball, all the guests are wearing ridiculous ball regalia. And then Giselle enters, wearing a beautiful contemporary dress, symbolizing that she's grown, changed, and is now truly "ready for the ball."

that dress wasnt remotely beautiful for all that money they burned you would think they'd have picked something less plain! even the color didnt suit amy.

I agree. It certainly wasn't what I expected.

And Robert wore the exact same outfit that her self-built "prince" did in the animated beginning. Missed that the first time round, but nice "proof" that he was her Prince Charming all along. :p

reply

I sure missed that one!

I missed that, too. Good job catching it! Although I didn't notice it in the animated version, I did notice how much Robert's outfit looked like the Beast's in the ballroom scene in "Beauty and the Beast". I would've preferred if Edward's had and if Nancy's had looked like Belle's...

I thought that Giselle was absolutely stunning when she arrived at the ball.

She looked lovely. But the dress was boring with a capital B-O-R-I-N-G! I also wish her hair had been styled differently.

I was happy with the way they did it - she looked *REAL* for really the first time. I also would've preferred a different dress, but if they tried for anything else, she wouldn't look real. And I loved the way her hair and her dress swirled when they were spinning around the dance floor.

And she was so lovely, her gown didn't need to be.

it wasn't such a bad dress. i could think of nicer ones to wear that still showed the idea of her finally being grown up but i liked the dress well enough

I also loved the idea that she looks completely contemporary compared to the fancy ball costumes. But I didn't like the top of her dress. The color was beautiful for her, but I didn't find the top of the dress very flattering. This thought is likely a stretch, but I wondered if the top was meant to look like seashells, since the bottom of the dress is mermaid style.

At any rate, I did wish her dress was a little prettier, but she still looked gorgeous in it.
