Amused at locations
Well done, Disney. Many of the scenes take place where there are daily large crowds. Did any out-of-towners (or their tots!) have an interest to track the less obvious ones down? I could spot just three not fully credited in the IMDB list of locations above; this might help:
(1) An easy one, the law office is in the Time Warner building at Columbus Circle.
(2) The apartment is findable too. We were told in the marauding-rodent report that the restaurant was at 116th x Broadway (a main gate for Columbus U!) but the reporter was actually in front of an apartment building on the north side of 116th Street x Riverside Drive. The Google Earth coordinates are here: 40°48'31.56"N 73°57'57.12"W (Google Earth Street View is showing scaffolding which may be long gone.)
(3) The ballroom/apple/dragon location: there's no building quite like that, mores the pity! But the 59th Street Bridge on the East Side shows in one shot.
Disney had some role in turning NYC around - it opened a theater off Times Square on 42nd Street when 42nd still, er, had some way to go, and a lot of other developers piled in. There were sardonic editorials lamenting the gritty old noir NYC was being lost but it aint all gone.
BTW I couldnt put the name "Amy Adams" to a face until a couple of weeks ago when that face kept popping up on cable in widely disparate roles. I found her rather funny here. Quite some range.
