Thinking about this film, I noticed a funny thing about the chipmunk character Pip. When he is in cartoon form, he sounds like a New Yorker with an attitude, yet when he is in NYC, he talks like Alvin's cousin. Anyone notice this?
shareI doubt that it was intentional for the chipmunk to have different accents but he was voiced by two different people in each part of the film.

Kevin Lima ... Pip in New York (voice)
That chipmunk was one of my fave characters in the movie, I was looking forward to him slapping the clueless prince. The bad guy made me mad when he almost tossed cute Pip in the oven at the restaurant.
shareWell, it was also that in the cartoon form he could talk normally and in the real world he couldn't. That was supposed to be the idea. If they had had the live action Pip talk like his cartoon voice when he was in NY, it might've been funny since it sounded like a NY'er, but in the real world, a chipmunk wouldn't talk like that, so they didn't do that.
