In 1919....
....the Irish fought for their independence. Today they are voting whether to keep it or be submerged in another Empire. Vote "No" please you lot!

Well I hope you Irish enjoyed the last referendum you'll be allowed to have. Once the Lisbon Treaty is ratified the EU will be be over-rule the Irish Parliament any time it wants regardless of any constitutional right to a referendum in future.
Irish Independence died this week, bought for a handful of Euros. Ours is sure to follow.
"Trust me. I know what I'm doing."
We were allowed have this one? I have to correct you though it wasn't bought for a few euros (we already spent Germanys money) it was bought by fear of exclusion from the EU. Welcome to the United States of Germany. I wonder what Rosslynglen thnks?
Awe Skinny you got blood all over my trousers! Jeez I'm real sorry sorry Frank
We were allowed have this one?No, the Irish govt is still able to govern before the Lisbon Treaty is ratified and made this referendum possible. Once it is ratified though, the EU will be able to over-rule any future decisions by the Irish govt including having possible referendums, regardless what it says in the Irish Constitution, because the EU Parliament will become paramount. Hence the EU won't allow any more referendums, certainly on anything it would lose.
I understand that I was being facetious. It's all over, 96 MEP seats for Germany to Irelands 22 for the moment. It's all over, Ich bein un deuthcesolder (or whatever).
Awe Skinny you got blood all over my trousers! Jeez I'm real sorry sorry Frank
He said 1919, the civil war began in 1922 so it's really not that funny at all is it?
Awe Skinny you got blood all over my trousers! Jeez I'm real sorry sorry Frank
And Ireland, briefly a nation, be a province once again...
Keep the change, ya filthy animal...

Thanks for trying, lad. I still wonder whether the vote was rigged in some way though, the swing to "yes" seemed far to pronounced to be true. Most Irish I know wanted to stick two fingers up just for being asked to vote again. Something strange there methinks.
