Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie and it's not hard to figure out what is going on. But the dialogue sometimes runs over itself. The actors recite lines and they're all talking over eachother to the point where you miss what they say.
I've seen this style in movies before and it does add a little realism to it, but it's a bit over the top.
I don't like this improvisation type style, or at least I don't like it when it's done poorly, and it is done very poorly here. I think it just looks like bad acting.

I agree. I love the premise behind this movie and like it when the dialogue is spoken clearly. But the director/editor/sound guys really did more harm than good by the improvisation style.
shareI like the fact that they are often stumbling over their lines. It makes it feel real. They are angry or riled up and it's hard to speak eloquently and smoothly when you're feeling those emotions.

You're clearly not supposed to understand everything being said. You can get the feeling of what's going on even if you don't hear every line. I liked it, and found it refreshing. Not every film has to be done the same way.
shareI don't think I agree with that. I'm only an hours drive from County Cork so understood everything and while, as I said, I didn't think it was delivered well the dialogue is quite important throughout.
