Is Johanna the mistress?

from what i've read of the script reviews

Thomas Webb - lead character is a college-ish guy living a privileged existence in NYC; has aspirations to be a writer but his father doesn't believe he has the chops for it
Father - hotshot publisher with a 30-something icy blonde, businesswoman mistress named Johanna
Mother - in the midst of an emotional breakdown mostly due to an unhappy marriage with a cruel go-getter publisher
Mimi- Thomas' first crush, college pal and they have a one-night stand which ends up making Thomas fall in love with her but she doesn't feel the same until later in the story when thomas has moved on to Johanna's his dad's mistress

There's also an eccentric neighbor who takes thomas under his wings and models the main character in this new novel after thomas. He's an award-winning writer and a recluse.

there's an interesting thread on this board called are there any updates on olbiny (i think) and the posters have both read the script. it's from back in 2006-2007 and you get a lot of ideas about the storyline there.



comic book films rule

Took ur advice cbff and checked out a review over at scriptshadow, sounds like the reviewer was pretty interested, even if the story wasn't as original. And I do obviously like coming-of-age/teenage-angst type of movies, so I'm in love with the idea of this movie. But am too familiar with the let-down of a movie where actors and filmmakers highly praise it as a beautifully written film, but sadly doesn't translate onto screen and ultimately disappoints. Hoping a kick-butt cast will prevent that from happening to this film.

To be honest, I was kinda shocked when I read the script. I just can't picture Logan getting it on with a 40 y.o. woman. Maybe it's because he looks much younger his age or because I'm used to seeing him play teenagers in PG-rated movies. I don't recall Logan having any sex scene on screen, either. So that's gonna be both interesting AND weird as *beep*
As much as I adore Logan, I think they should've casted someone looking a bit older yet still boyish, like maybe, Nicholas Hoult or Jeremy Sumpter, hell, even Kyle Gallner could pull this off. Daniel Sharman would also be a great casting choice but eh.
