Could have been a great show; some of the characters story arc ruin it

First and foremost, it's an interesting show, and some episodes are quite good. But there are some absurdly stupid episodes that far outweigh the good. You can tell that there are different writers for most episodes because of how good or how poor the story arc is.

Number one thing is the wives. Of course there is always one cheating, conniving bitch who becomes a compulsive liar, and gets involved with the COLONEL of all people, cheating on her husband who is a member of the unit he commands. This is not some Army or Marine unit. This is THE Unit, also known as CAG or Delta Force. These are the best of the best, serving in J.S.O.C. And the Colonel being involved in affair with the wife of one of his soldiers!? The Colonel of JSOC no less? What the hell, LOL. That is just downright stupid.

The other two wives are more tolerable, with Molly probably being the most noble and level headed, and what's-her-face who is married to Bob can almost be as annoying as Tiffy, but she has to be the 'strong independent working woman who is also pregnant blah blah blah' as if they didn't have to push that issue enough. "Not only is she pregnant, but she is savvy and business minded!" And then she throws a *beep* hissy fit for not being able to see her children when they are separated for their own safety after a *beep* CHLORINE GAS ATTACK THAT OBVIOUSLY TARGETED THE UNIT AND THEIR FAMILIES, killing dozens of people. But she is so 'strong willed and independent' that she is literally going to break a strict military code implemented for the protection of her, her children, and everyone in the unit, just so she can go see her kids. Her knowing full well that there is an insider that knows who they are and is targeting them specifically. But no, let's let this 'strong, savvy, independent' woman act like a *beep* 16 year old putting not only her family, but the entire Units' families and identities at a huge risk.

And that big twist in the last few episodes. Big *beep* surprise. LOL. Give me a break. My god that was stupid.

Other than that, the unit members are pretty cool and likable. The episode '5 Brothers' was a powerful one. The combat scenes are pretty entertaining, though they are put in some pretty silly situations.

If they removed the annoying female characters (well, most of them) and focused the episodes entirely on the missions, it could have been a lot better. But this whole Tiffy and the Colonel scandal is just so dumb. The leader of JSOC banging the wife of one of his closely knit group of men. WTF.

The show is certainly worth a watch. But my god, they could have done without the ridiculous cliches regarding the women. Yeah, I get that the show is taking a look at both the men and their families, but the families are *beep* STUPID for *beep* sake!

I don't think it deserves the ~8 the show has gotten here, there really are some tremendously good episodes, but the bad outweighs the good way too often.
