Why doesn't the Colonel where rank insignia on his uniform,is that normal or just an oversight by the show?.
shareThey are trying to promote the idea of a sanitized uniform. Its way over done though. To me this is a part of the writing and advisement of CSM Haney. See in Haney's day things were beyond informal. Uniforms were far different back then, much less descriptive. In the present, if a Soldier was roaming around Ft. Bragg in a uniform with no markings, he would be picked up by MPs, Colonel or not. Uniforms can be worn with markings that are not descriptive to give away a specific unit. In his home operating base it would be inaccurate to depict the Colonel walking around in a sanitized uniform.
