Thoughts on the show (spoilers)

I finished watching all four seasons on Amazon Prime and I thought:

1. it ended pretty abruptly. Did it get unexpectedly canceled after S4?
2. I like Dennis Haysbert as an actor (great on 24), but I don't think he ever fit his character all that well.
3. the fling between Col. Ryan and Tiffy was kind of unbelievable...what kind of colonel would ever think that scenario would end well?
4. Bob's character always seemed a bit too wooden...I haven't seen Scott Foley on any other show, so maybe that's just the way he is. It would have been nice to see him express a few more emotions.
5. man, those wives of the Unit get swindled on a regular basis
6. I thought that the guys of the Unit would make payback on at least one of the wife swindlers - particularly that wife/husband who took Molly's money
7. interesting to see Jon Hamm on this show...I assume he was in it right before Mad Men took off
8. they cut off the romance between Charles and the waitress without explanation
9. ok, so Charles marries a billionaire woman....and there's no discussion on how this changes his life?
10. if the group responsible for the major attack in S4 already had video footage of the Unit wives, wouldn't Leon Drake already have known Molly right when they met?

Overall, I enjoyed watching this show. I liked the fact that the episodes didn't always end "well", and that the missions sometimes failed to a degree.

~After enjoying that movie, I figured I would drop by IMDB to read about its problems.

From what I read recently at Wikipedia, the series was canceled a week or two after the last episode of the fourth season aired. No reason was given, but I suspect that slipping ratings was the main reason. "The Unit" was highly rated its first season, but the ratings dropped with each subsequent season. It's possible, though, that it might have survived with the ratings it did have, but that maybe the production costs made it too expensive to continue. That is only speculation on my part, however.
