Gimme Shelter

I see Amara is in this episode tonight. I hope it isn't as painful as her last episode.

There was a lot I liked about the episode and bits I didn't. I felt bad for both Jack and Cas by the sounds of things they are the ones who will sacrifice a lot to save the world as well as Sam and Dean.

It was good seeing Amara again, was she going along with their plan or not, Dean went back in and explained and she wavered thinking about betraying her brother in the biggest possible way that she ever could. By the way, he can talk, he did exactly the same to her, payback dearest!!

I hated that Connor had to die at the beginning, and the woman who stole the money was left to walk scot free. Don't get me started on the woman having a fingers sliced off with that machine. How had that young girl conjured up all this? I also like the twist at the end with the Cross road demon taking the culprit. Isn't she already a demon though? How can he do a deal with her??

One thing I did enjoy was watching the snow fall, and seeing a diner again maybe for the last time this year 😢 The other point I remembered was that when Jack entered the church and the girl asked him to fill in the form, what would Jack write? Name Jack Cline, Age dur, 3 months? Address, The Bunker Kansas, as if he would give that away to all and sundry? Occupation, private investigator, angel smitter, demon hunter! would he be believed? Don't be silly B... I also wasn't sure about the Pastor, he didn't fill me with warmth at all. So was Connor's death ear marked from the start, the Pastor's daughter being the bad guy, setting him up to ask the homeless person to leave the shelter?? I thought she might have had something to do with the murders.

The end scene was so moveable, seeing Dean well up when Cas was talking seemed very foreboding some how. Cas wanted to warn Dean but couldn't tell him the full story, not just yet!

I am being brave I am going to score this episode 7.5/out of 10

Come on guys how about you all?

I really thought it was going to be the Pastor behind the murders and cruelty. But have learned with this show there's a lot of misdirection. Was glad Dean got through Amara and hopefully she's going to help even thought it may mean she will be killed.

Well Cas is going out on his own again without telling Dean or Sam what he's doing. When he does this it generally turns out making things more complicated. Becoming God, believing Metatron, saying yes to Lucifer and most recently leaving the bunker to find a way to save Jack to name a few.

I did enjoy this episode. The conversation between Jack and Cas was a bit heart rending. Realizing that Jack will be sacrificed to get rid of Chuck.

That's actually what I would give it a 7.5/10
The episode was a decent one. I didn't care for the case much, but it didn't feel terribly acted like how most "teens" appear on the show. The girl who was responsible felt too predictable to me from the Lifetime movie go-to killer but if it was the Pastor, wouldn't that be predictable as well? so they took the Jr. route. I suspected the girl based on her character Lily from Once Upon a Time. I know there's no connection, I just said to myself, "Watch it be her, that white headband isn't foolin anyone"

I feel there were a few things that were unclear. I thought the woman getting her fingers sliced that Cas healed later, was the woman you stole the money? I don't remember the crossroad demon take the girl either(?) Also, I don't get how this girl did all this Saw meets Seven stuff. I thought maybe the "Lust" guy and her were working together maybe, because he had all of those computers. I don't know, I dont buy her pulling off all this stuff and it was simply for "shock value" with no explanation. I did like Jack and Cas working together though. It seems more easy for them with their powers.

Dean and Sam looking for/talking to Amara was good, but I felt left hanging on some information she could've provided. I too, enjoyed seeing the snow. Made me wish it would just snow here already. So...someone said "they" retcon the story of Amara and Chuck, as she said the two of the were the big bang...which was a big theory others were throwing around. Again, making me suspect that Chuck is not God. Btw, what was up with Dean not getting any food?

I had to do another post it didn't let me fit everything..
Now, when Jack said he would die by being a bomb, I thought, yeah-that's fine, you should sacrifice yourself. I'm sorry Jack lovers, but he doesn't need to be "God" I don't hope that Jack dies, if anything I want Jack to be normal, he could even be a hunter. I don't like him being so damn powerful and then the writers barely provide decent storylines for this character. It made me kind of hate Jack. Season 12 storyline of Kelly and Lucifer's one night was just as bad as British Men of Letters. If Jack does die, imo it will right the wrong of creating this super angel baby. A character being around for 2-3 seasons doesn't need to be glorified. I don't need another Billie Jenkins from Charmed, but that's what I see. Sorry for the rant, but it's the sad and laziness within the show. Dean and Sam get less and less screentime for the new "baby Oliver" character, I've seen it again and again. Sorry for the rant, but it annoys me to no end.

However, what Jack said about Billie, makes me suspect Billie's true intentions. The bomb reminds me of the end of season 11, when Dean was prepared to be one to kill Amara. I see Billie is in the next episode..so maybe we'll get more answers.

Maybe the boys ran out of cash/credit? That was strange, as Dean can't wait to get in and scoff a burger, and chips, and Pie for afters.

The Demon was their if you re-watch those two scenes he has that smirk on his face with the girl in the back seat. He is a clue some where but can't think for what reason?

I talked about this to a friend a while ago thinking that God could be Gabe in disguise it just feels right up his street the way in the past he's pulled stunts on the boys, it really does feel like something he'd do.

I just wished that Connor didn't have to be the one to loose his life first he didn't steal anything so why did the girl decide to take him? Had he annoyed her in some way? Also what relevance was the Teddy Bear?? A trap to lure the person in to be slaughtered?

Also anyone notice that the Pastor had been in the show before. He was Dr Sexy in Changing Channels Season 5. I knew he looked familiar? And old Gabe was being a pain in that episode too, pulling a stunt on the boys!

That was too weird...Dean not eating. Maybe he was caught off guard with Amara showing up.. I mean she smelled them. Creepy. Made him lose his appetite? Or perhaps he didn't think they'd ever find Amara and just wanted a road trip with his Sammy.

I guess that demon was going to take that girl for his own use to work. I just dont understand why Cas would allow that to happen, unless he didn't see it(?) I don't know, just another odd writing choice and unexplained-lazy storytelling. Like that teddy bear talking, wtf was that?

The problem for me with Gabe being God is they've already rewrote/retconned him twice. So, for Gabe to end up being God would be a disappointed and make little sense. Plus, he's been so keen on being a son to God and all that jazz. Hiding is totally Gabe though, I just dont think that's God.

I too felt bad for Connor. I guess he lied...another story in the episode that wasn't fully told.
