Supernatural ending or not?

I've read a few different articles based on what a CW boss said and what Jensen said.
CW Boss discussed on how this is the last season and there will be no good spinoffs because Jensen and Jared are the main reason people watch and don't want to watch a "world" they are in that doesn't include them to appear, basically.

Dabb said this is the end and it's going to end like a farewell ending.

But then Jensen talked about returning in the future to do more episodes, a movie, or something.

Sorry, I don't have any articles. I read them late last night, but it just feels like the show is ending, but it's hard for the boys to fully say goodbye and say returning is never going to happen, because there's a possibility. But to be honest I dont really want to see Jensen and Jared in their 60s doing the same thing.

I've seen this too, on Digital Spy I think where Jensen said this. I think before they packed up the show I remember Jensen saying he would like to do small block episodes like 8-10 per season, but the net work turned them down which was why the boys decided to quit because they were refused. But then I read later that Jensen had gone to see Bob Singer, and said about packing up the show, and that he found it difficult to talk Bob round, and even harder to talk Jared round. So Jensen seems to be the one that felt he wanted closure. So there is so much stuff around out there at the moment, I don't know what is official and what isn't.

Sounds like Jensen didn't want to completely let go, so it makes sense why it seems all over the place with whether or not it's a full ending vs. possible return/revival.

For me personally, I want to focus on the final season and not think too much about the future, because I've done that with other shows and it was a complete letdown. However, many shows have/are returning in revivals...BUT some are bad, some are great and some are just OK and enough to give us a fix.
Examples:
Heroes Reborn = very bad
The X Files Season 10 & 11 = OK-some good
I cant think of a great one right now...it rarely happens.

If it returns one day, great.

I think speaking for many fans here I think we are clinging on in the hope of seeing J2 together again in the future. Shows just finish and that's it, some reunite and some don't. We are so lucky to know that they are not giving up on the conventions as that's a huge relief that we have that much to salvage from the show ending.

There are many shows I've loved in my life time that have never come back or even hinted on a return. J2 are popular and I think with many years of screen time, feel this allows them to still dabble in the show afterwards but creating maybe something different. I still feel the show had more stories to tell, and had at least another two or three years to run. Some shows have gone on for years and never end. But, it was their choice and that's it. Its just a nice feeling to think they might be back together in some capacity later on.
