I must be in the minority, I hated the last episode!

Okay, maybe hate is a strong word, but I didn’t really like it at all. It had some good moments, like Dean finally showing Jack some love and saying they were family. But aside from that, I absolutely hated the jerky camera style, and the out of character moments. The entire episode I kept saying to myself “what the f— is going on??” It looked so cheap and like some bad documentary. If that’s how the spinoff will look, then they’ve already lost me.

And those angels teaming up to get rid of the warding spell, was probably one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on the show. It was beyond ridiculous. The way they kept slamming the floor like that, in rhythm... I felt like I was watching a bad movie or something. It was just laughable.

I’m not looking forward to the prospects of dinosaurs or whatever being on the show now too. I know that because of Jack, everything is supposed to be a little loopy, but now given this, and the upcoming Scooby Doo episode - I’m beginning to wonder if this was their “jumping the shark” moment, and everything that’s to come will just take the show downhill. I know a lot of people think the show jumped the shark a while ago, but I’ve loved the show since the first episode. Now, I find myself questioning if this is still the same show I fell in love with. Not impressed.

Well, I didn't like "The Bad Place" and I didn't notice the camera styles, but it felt like I was watching a different show. It felt more like a Backdoor Pilot Part 1. Now, I understand they are setting up the other show, but I was expecting way more Dean and Sam, not a Jack adventure with another female drifter, who I thought was just as unlikable as Patience and also happens to have a special power.

Not sure how you didn’t notice the camera style, it was so distracting to me. The second the episode started it felt and looked different than all the other episodes. It felt like someone was using a handycam or something. It was shaking all over the place, and all the weird angles and zoom-ins...it just looked bad. You are right that it felt like you were watching another show, it didn’t feel like Supernatural at all. The back and forth between the two storylines also wasn’t well done. I found all the Patience and Jody scenes were just so boring and so slow paced.

The drifter was different, her screaming was annoying. Dean kidnapping her was so out of character for him, especially him trying to show Jack they’re the good guys. I get that it’s his mom, but him kidnapping an innocent wasn’t like him. And Sam barely even tried to stop him. Jack being a bit creepy when he said hello to people was also odd. Really, aside from that one Dean and Jack moment where he said they were his family, there was nothing else I liked about the episode. I’ve never watched a supernatural episode before where I kept asking myself “WTF is going on? WTF am I watching? WTF is wrong with the camera? WTF is wrong with the colouring? WTF is up with these angels?? WTF is Dean doing?” It was just a huge WTF episode for me. It was just bad.

I hate how they also go back and forth with either Dean and Sam being too weak or too strong. They’ve taken on just as many, if not more Angels before, and this time they’re all of a sudden stuck and don’t know what to do? How about they take them down like they’ve taken down so many other angels and demons before? And if the angels have the ability to break spells like they were trying to do, how come they’ve never once done that trick before? It was so badly done too. This is really the first episode I’ve seen in all 13 seasons, that I absolutely didn’t like. And the more I talk about it, the more I hate it. I really did hate the episode.

I was disappointed about it too - to where I didn't want to share it. I agree, it did feel like I was watching a different show.
What bothered me was the over the top screen time for Jack and Kai, who I thought was more likable then Patience, but really they are the same character, a girl with a power and basically alone. But I guess, how else would Jody get all of her orphan girls? Patience gets a vision of Jody's death and drops everything to go to her - does she not have a phone? She has to literally drop everything, leave her house, her father that almost got killed behind? Then her dad just gives up on her to not come back home if she leaves, gee how else would she get on Wayward Sisters & makes her father look careless. It's already to ME, not being set up well.

Then there was Dean pulling a gun out on Kai - I know he wants to find his mom, but to me that was just out of the blue and too desperate/out of character for Dean. I'd rather hear him give her a heart to heart talk to help them, then that way she'd go willingly instead of feeling like a prisoner.

Running out of Angels, I thought was weird, but wasn't a bother. However, Kai's uncontrollably screams was too much and too long. It just so happens that she ends up down the road, Jack in AU, and the brothers (who had no physical contact to Kai) goes to the bad place.

I appreciated the creativity of Dream walkers & the bad place, but did not like that episode.

Ha ha, yeah that was another issue too. What couldn’t Patience just pick up the phone and call Jody? Why did she just pack everything up and leave everything behind? The only explanation I can even think of, is that she saw the scenario play out different ways, and picked this one as the right one. Like maybe if she just called, Jody still would have gotten killed. Who knows. And her dad telling her to never come back, after almost losing her a few episodes ago and also losing his mom, it just made no sense. Why give her an ultimatum? He could have said anything, but what he actually said.

And spending so much time on Kai was also annoying, since it didn’t involve Dean of Sam much. They really did get little screen time. And yeah, the fact that Dean and Sam end up in monster land, while Kai seemingly gets send to a nice alternate...or just up the road. It was ridiculous. And why 3 different places too? You would think she and Jack would have ended up in the same place.

And the Dean we know, definitely would have tried as best as he could to convince her to go with them. He would have even cried and told her how desperate he was to get her back. But to just pull a gun on her, and have Sam not even try to really talk him out of it...it was just out of character. Not just for Dean, but Sam too. The angels to me were beyond irritating though, especially with that stupid slapping the ground move they did. That is something I’d expect to see on a cheesy, crappy show. I feel like I’ve even seen something like that before too. But it was just so bad. It was ridiculous. I also don’t get why Jack couldn’t just take them all out. He took out other people before. And hell Lucifer could just snap his fingers and dust any angels or demons near him. You’d think Jack would be just as able to do something like that.

When the show comes back, I’m not looking forward to the dinosaurs or King Kong or whatever happens. It looks so bad. What the hell happened to this show? 😞
