I thought Drew always succeeded...

One running-gag on the show is that Chris's little brother succeeds at everything he tries. One exception is the episode where Drew tries to produce a music video (with Tanya and two other girls), but it's rejected from televison because they didn't use an original song. But...how can Drew fail?? Maybe it would have been funnier to have Chris predict the video would flop but for it to then succeed anyway. That way it would continue the running joke that Drew always out-does Chris.

If he was a flawless character who got everything he ever wanted and more, people would have gotten fed up with him, which is why he sometimes fails at things (remember the episode where Chris broke Drew's arm when they had a fight?) BUT he usually ends up finding the good even in the bad (he wrote better with his left hand, he could do one-arm pushups) or the time he wanted to go to the magic show to get the free TV magic cards but his dad freaked out because of the rabbits and they had to leave (the magician gave him a bunch of free stuff) or the time he wanted to meet Wayne Gretzky but never got to see the guy because they went to the wrong hotel?

So Drew and Tanya become famous because the video is so successful. Then, that would kinda sorta change the entire show, wouldn't it?

George Carlin: It's all bullsh-t and it's bad for ya.
