Why can't the producers get 'normal' beauties?

Most of the beauties that have appeared on the show past and present have all worked in the media in some form.

Some of them appeared on magazines like cleo, cosmo and playboy before they got on the show so they are sort of semi famous, while others like leticia and sam from last season were already working in television prior to appearing on the show.

are they really so hard pressed to find beautiful women who have yet to appear in mainstream media?

I think a large portion of people who apply to these kind of shows are people who are trying to have a career in the entertainment industry and will do almost anything to get their 15 minutes of fame. The so called "normal" beauties are too smart for B&G.

Sonic, that was actually a mean thing to say. Just because a girl is thin and even tanned doesn't mean her personality will suck. I do have to say I don't agree with their choices of "Beauties" on this show, since a lot of them are more fake than real.
But, like I said, it is hurtful that people seem to automatically stereotype thin girls cuz they are thin. I'm thin, and it's just hard to gain weight, but I'm intelligent and, as far as I know, everyone likes my personality. I don't know why all the sudden, if you're thin, you're classified as bitchy, or dumb. It's not the person's size that makes them beautiful, it's all about the soul inside.
