Why not Tom and Amanda?

I'm sorry. I must have missed this one. What was wrong with Tom and Amanda having a relationship? I find it difficult to believe that she couldn't "be" with him because of his "geek" label. Certainly the legitimacy of his geekhood was questionable. Amber might think she's all that; but Amanda actually seems to be. They looked cute together. And, if I may be so cliche, they obviously completed each other. I mean, they were considered the biggest threats throughout the show and managed to overcome all the adversity to win the game. There seemed to be a mutual chemistry building when Amber came back to the house. I know he was uber-shy, but someone really needs to sit him down and clue him in. They were not really too polar opposite. But, like I said, maybe I missed something. Any thoughts?

Maybe their working well together was partly due to an absence of attraction. That said, I agree with you that it seemed like a logical progression of their partnership. My guess is that Tom is just too inexperienced to see Amanda as anything other that an unattainable knockout, and Amanda hasn't yet grown out of the "gotta getta hot guy" phase, too immature to see Tom's quality in a relationship situation. I thought Amanda was the most attractive of this year's crop, but I think I'm in the minority on that one. BTW Amber's trashy behavior, throwing herself at Tom, had nothing to do with attraction and everything to do with control and narcissism.
