why change the dog tag design?

i mean, the original images were rather iconic and embraced by more than one character, no?

i can see changing the actor responsible and/or even the location (i.e., no dam/spillway images).

but the dog tags? that's BOGUS!

Good question. I know in the other films he had current Canadian style dog tags, but in this film th are American style (unless the US now uses the sam style as the Canadians do).
