What's the point of a dead-pool cliffhanger??

They did the whole "eyes open at the end" cliche... but we already know nothing ever becomes of it b/c X-men Origins: Wolverine took place in the 70's.

Any Questions??

A possibility of a spinoff.

What do you say now...lol?

Fiery the angels fell, deep thunder rolled around their shores, burning with the fires of Orc

Yeah they were planning a spin-off with Ryan Reynolds, (they even put together a script at one point) but apparently Fox became nervous about the idea of an R rated film starring the character and the whole Green Lantern thing probably didn't help. Reynolds would regularly mention that it was still in the pipe line for quite a stretch after Origins and tidbits would occasionally be mentioned (e.g. after the reception to his character in Origins they wanted the spin-off to be a reboot of the character) but it has since become clear that it has been placed on the back burner where it remains. Although Donner has mentioned that they still may do a Deadpool movie at some point. If you google "Deadpool movie" I'm sure you'll have no problem finding tons of information the ongoing saga.

Lol bet you feel like a chump now. Deadpool movie was amazing!

How do you figure? Do you not know how to read or something? I don't understand. My post very clearly explained that, at the time, the Deadpool movie was placed on the back burner but there was still the possibility that it could go forward. That is 100% accurate, unbiased account of what was going on at the time and that remains accurate with the updated behind the scenes information that we have today. Remember, it wasn't until the test footage leaked (after the date of my post) that Fox had an about-face and decided to take the film off the back burner and give it the green light.

Further, nowhere in my post did I express my own opinion on the matter whatsoever so I see absolutely no reason for such a response. You act as if I was a detractor who said that the movie could never work/would suck and was proven wrong. That's not what happened at all and if you really want to get into that aspect of it I'll be happy to link you to other posts of mine that I made on the Deadpool board in the lead up to the film's release where I explained to actual detractors that there were major signs that the movie would do well.

That thing that Ryan Reynolds played would never need to be featured in a spin off film. I hope a Deadpool movie never comes to fruition.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

Don't worry. It's not THIS Deadpool that we'll see come February 2016.

I heard about a planned DEAD-POOL film, but I'm not sure how well it would've followed this movie's cliffhanger. Does Dead Pool regain his memories and free will? Was the experiment he went through the cause of his insanity?

Chances are the spinoff would've been a brand new story, having nothing to do with this movie.

a spinoff film Dead-Pool would have re-attached his head but his optic blast power would be gone (possibly as a result of the decapitation)
also his mouth would be open and no longer sewn shot, and obviously no longer controlled by Striker's computer since the whole place was destroyed.
so he'd just have his reflexes and healing factor and looking deformed, so it could actually be made into the same deadpool movie we'll be getting now

The original plan for Deadpool was that he was going to get a spinoff movie. Original plan was for a solo film, and now it looks like it'll be a X-Force movie if it happens.

There was an interview with the people who designed the character for the movie, and they were saying that the reason Wade's mouth is shut is that he was still undergoing the procedure when they pulled him out to fight Wolverine at the end. So even the way the character was created for the film was in anticipation for a spinoff of some sort where Stryker's procedure would have been finished and he would have become the "Merc with a mouth" that he is known for.

Thankfully because of DOFP most of everything in this movie has been negated (assuming it is considered in the continuity of the other films) and they can start from scratch if they ever choose to revisit Deadpool in a future movie.
