Rank the Entire Series

My Rank:
X2 (2003)
X-Men (2000)
X-Men: First Class (2011)
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

While it's rating might say otherwise, I found The Last Stand to be quite entertaining (especially after I saw Origins, which made it seem like a masterpiece in comparison). What I would like to know (in as civil a manner as possible) are some legitimate reasons why others don't like it. It had some interesting plot ideas and involving action sequences. On the flipside, however, I understand that the film's various plots don't add up to a cohesive whole and most of the choices made with the characters were maddening. Aside from this, however, I had no real issue with the film. Origins, on the other hand, not only struck me as a lousy comic book film but just a terrible movie overall, with its shoddy special effects, cliche plot, lack of respect for continuity (which First Class is also guilty of, but it's actually good) and magic bullets, among other things. Thoughts?

From Best to Worst in my opinion

X-Men: First Class
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
X-Men
X2
X-Men: The Last Stand

I like all of them but for some reason absolutely hate TLS. I felt it was super anti-climactic. There were a lot of good parts to it but overall I felt they could have done a lot better.

I think First Class and X2 are the only really good X-Men films. X-Men aged poorly (the mutant machine plot is strange and never referenced in the franchise again) and The Last Stand was a disappointing film that didn't do justice to either the Cure story or the Dark Phoenix story. X-Men Origins is just plain bad.

Same as woodstockalex.

In the case of The Last Stand there are quite a few things that ruined it for me. First of all it fell into the usual comedy that part 3's fall into (Juggernaut, Mystique hissing "homosapien"), just too campy. 2ndly, Ratner shot it like a tv movie with a lot of close ups and quick cuts. This movie lacked Bryan's style (though also his dim lighting, which was a welcome change.) I did like a lot of the action and it was the only movie to end with a big mutant battle involving all the mutants, but they killed it with a HUGE plot hole. Why, o why did they not use the cure on Jean? Was there some reason it wouldn't work on her like she is too psychically strong or something? I don't recall this being covered at all and it seems ridiculous when Logan kills her. That said, they did no justice to the Phoenix or Mutant Cure sagas, butchered Juggernaut (why'd they drop the step-brother of Prof. X angle?) and under used (again) and needlessly killed Cyclops in favor of another Wolverine-centered story. Cyclops needs to be the center for once.

I really just want an X-Man film or other solo X-Men/Mutant films at this point, though First Class was the Batman Begins of X-Men and I'm much looking forward to the x-over Days of Future Past.

You have First Class listed as the best and worst movie, and no mention of X-Men 3.

X-Men: First Class (2011)

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

I can't decide which is worse between X3 and Origins, but X3 had the potential to be awesome and didn't deliver which makes it hurt more imo.

First Class is the best cause it doesn't have much Wolverine in it and actually is enjoyable as a whole movie and doesn't make me want to bang my head against a wall. plus Fassbender.
