Just started rewatching this series and the "clone" stand alone stories are probably the best stories in the Star Wars Universe. However, knowing Order 66 is going to happen, anyone else feel bad for these clones?

Yeah. The series makes Order 66 much more emotional. The clones really got the short end of the stick in that galaxy.

Yeah, rebels expands on the fate of the clones. Rex does not turn on the jedi
And some novels hint at what happened to them, but the short story is, they just withered and died. They have retirement homes of sorts throught out the galaxy as they started getting old and nobody knew what to do with them. By Episode IV they are all pretty much extinct.
But they were always going to be a tragic figure as they had a purpose and knew that when the war ended they would be out of a life.
some managed meaningful lives though, see all the seasons there are a couple of stories about it.
It does add a lot more emotional depth to the Order 66 sequence, but also shows adds another layer to it: the Republic ends up paying the price for essentially using a slave-race as an army. Not all of the clones even wanted to fight.
shareYes, the whole clone concept is horrific. Using what amounts to genetically programmed slaves as cannon fodder really kills any claims of morality by the Jedi OrdeR.
Just another example of the Lucas creative breakdown that made the prequels so bad.
I think the reason the Jedi used them is because they didn't consider the clones as people; they thought it would be better than drafting people off of farms or whatever to fight. So their reasoning might have started as "moral", but then the clones started thinking for themselves and developing as individuals, so it kinda backfired. It's still a horrible and tragic idea. The Separatists almost have it better, using stupid droids instead of living soldiers (if you don't factor in AI as sentient entities.)
