IMDb says mostly filmed on US lots and then generally credits Oaxaca. A couple of the street scenes look very much like Oaxaca City but I guess not.

Can anyone identify the pueblo and church locations? Somewhere in the state of Oaxaca, I assume.

When you read the credits at the end it says Filmed entirely on location in Oaxaca Mexico.

That's not entirely true. Some of the town shots were filmed at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
