I went into the movie thinking almost the whole movie would take place within the fictional world, and was a bit disappointed. I wanted to see more of the Fawn and the Pale Man, etc. Still a good movie though.

IMDb is the almighty, superior, purple leader.
I guess most viewers expected the same thing (as did I).
Though I wouldn't change a thing about the film, it would have been great to see some more of the "fantasy" world.

I thought it was good but not great. The directing and effects were fantastic though. The slit mouth, the Pale Man, and the Fawn all looked great.
shareThe parallel storylines which eventually converged at the end really enhanced the film for me. The real world backdrop adds depth, meaning and more suspense to Ofelia's experiences, rather than her just have a fun time in some sort of cave fantasy tale.🐭
