Review and Question! (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)

Again, let me note that this will contain spoilers so if you haven't seen this yet, do not read on.

First, let me review the movie. As a sequel, I believe it was terrible. It would have been alright if it was a standalone movie possibly entitled "Reflections of Time".

One thing I did not like about the sequel was its explanation. The original had us believe that Evan could relive those unconscious moments in his life by reading about what happened right before they occurred. Hence, Evan traveled back in time through his seizures. In the sequel, we did not see Nick have any seizures. We did see him have one after his accident and his mother mentioned he has had a tendency to have headaches, but these are two totally different things. All Nick had to do was focus on a photo and he automatically was transported to when that photo was taken. And everytime he did this, he did not go unconscious at that point in time (a clear example is the first and last travels in time he made). Yet somehow, he shortly ended back into the present. In the original, Evan automatically traveled back into the present when the seizure ended. The original idea was more believable.

I didn't like how they only limited the timeline to one year. This makes the movie too short. The original made more sense as we could see three different stages of Evan's life. This also gave us an emotional attachment to the characters. I didn't feel it as much with the sequel. Another factor in this could be that Nick did not travel back as many times as Evan did.

Here's a question that popped in my head when I finished the movie. At the end, Nick learns that he needs to let Julie go, but then finds out she's pregnant. First, at the beginning after the accident, why didn't he find out? If she knew, I'm sure the doctors could have found out. Maybe within that year, he tried to block it out. And... after his first travel back and got back to the present, we see Julie is alive and well, and they are together. The question... where is the baby? There is no sign of him. He should be born already, as he his at the end of the movie.

Does anyone agree or have comments? Please discuss.
