Does anyone have the same conclusion?

I don't know if this was posted yet or not, but I really think that Evan & Nick have the same father. It showed a newspaper clipping of their dad and it looked like the same man, plus his mom told him his dad commited suicide. So I'm thinking they're half brothers.

oh I thought the newspaper clipping was Ashton's dad. I think it is that guy is no relation to the guy in 2 at all. He's just noted in this one as well

What I got from that scene was Eric was looking online to see if anyone had the same problem he had and found a picture and article of Evans dad. I dont think there was a relation.

I watched TBE2 with the audio from the director and one of the producers, and they said that they intentionally made that unclear, in part to make this a true sequel of sorts by linking it to TBE1.
On the other hand, there was a scene with Nick and his mother talking and Nick said something like, "Why didn't you ever tell me that dad committed suicide?" Again, this knowledge is implied by what he learned from his online research.

Pretty flimsy evidence, but you can make the case that Evan and Nick had the same father.

agreed! i mean wtf? what kind of a crap ending was that? i mean just go back to that group pic, throw away your cell phone cause the girl wanted to stay anyway, and live happily ever after.. the guy sure wasn't the brainiac salesman that everyone said he was.. this movie is really awful.. the more i think about it the bigger the plot holes get!

Plot hole update:

It's been some days now since i've watched it and the plot holes are about the size of Manhattan.

btw IT is so freakin' scary.. saw it when i was 9 years old and a couldn't sleep for a month. It's much scarier when u leave out the part when they're adults.

would the dates match for them to have the same dad?
we dont know enough about his dad do we i dont think not that i remember them saying in butter2. But you would think he would have seen a photo of his dad at some point in his life, therefore recognise him in this photo, where did he think his dad was anyway etc?
