Saw it on FX and they cut out too much

I saw Grandma's Boy last night on FX for the first time. It was a 10pm-12am airing. I really enjoyed it and found it hilarious. My brother and boyfriend have seen it before and we were watching it together. I noticed that there were a lot of scenes that were cut out unnecessarily, some of which make it confusing for the first time viewer, and also makes it awkward. My bro and bf told me everything that happened when they cut scenes out. Some things would have confused me if my brother and boyfriend didn't tell me what happened in the cut scenes. It would have confused me in the way "hmm, that was awkward" or it just wouldn't have made sense.

I watch Nip/Tuck, which is also on FX. Some of the things that they cut out of Grandma's Boy have happened on Nip/Tuck on the same channel.

The following contains spoilers from both Grandma's Boy and Nip/Tuck: One character calls Christian *beep* as if it is his name in some episodes. They censored out that word in Grandma's Boy on FX. That is just one of the minor things that happened. Also, on Nip/Tuck, Matt was masturbating outside of someones house, yet they censored out the masturbation scene on Grandma's Boy. My bro and bf said that there was nothing that needed to be censored that wasn't any worse than any other part of the movie. This also caused confusion when Jeff's mom picked him up from work. She gave Alex a look and he waved. That is confusing for someone who did not know about scene that they cut. I would understand if the same things were cut if it aired on a channel like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, TBS, or some other channels, but not FX. More inappropriate things happen in Nip/Tuck, which is on the same channel. They even censored out words that are often used on Nip/Tuck.

Nip/Tuck is on at 10 and they show Grandma's Boy during the daytime. That's the difference. I do agree with you, though, and Grandma's Boy should only be on at night.

Funny, I was actually coming on here to post the same thing. I own the movie and saw it was on FX so tuned in and could not believe ALLLL that they cut out. Why even show movies like this if you are going to butcher it so badly? Shoot, half the scenes they cut out weren't even that bad
And one thing I don't get about American Tv (and John Stewart did a pretty funny skit about this on the DailyShow) is why curse words, or the half clothed body, etc, are soooo bad yet turn on any show during Primetime and there is violence, violence and more violence. Wow are we a little backwards
