Is JP mimicking a Darlek?

I've only recently started watching DR WHO series, and it occurred to me, is JP specifically trying to mimick/sound like a Darlek when he talks in his retard robot voice?

The inflection at some points is exactly like Darlek

The show is called DOCTOR Who, never, ever "Dr" and they are called Daleks, not Darleks.

I would say he's not trying to imitate Daleks, simply because the Daleks tend to shout with a gravely voice, not really what JP was doing.

EDIT: actually, I'm watching it again and JP does kinda have that monotone shouty voice, so maybe he was using Daleks as the inspiration for the voice.

I read an interview with JP and he confirmed that the script said he was to talk like a Dalek. So it's 100% confirmed fact. I was right!
