BBC World Cinema Award


Last night The Death of Mr Lazarescu was named best foreign language film of the last year by the BBC World Cinema Award panel. The other nominees were Caché, Volver, Lady Vengeance, The Beat That My Heart Skipped and L'Enfant.

Wow, there were some really big contestants in there. However, I think "The Death of..." deserves its award(s). It's very poignant and an astute social comment/study. Go, Cristi Puiu!
