ROMANIAN FILMS ARE GREAT! NOT THIS ONE.
The Death of Mister Lazarescu could have been an amazing film since the premise is so fantastic. First of all, the documentary style is terrible not only for this film but many others as well. There were no close-ups, we never got to see Monica Dean’s beautiful, pretty face up close. The lighting was to dark, the scenes were to long, acting was good but the audio was poor and hollow so I couldn’t appreciate it. I certainly don’t want to trash anyone’s hard work but you need to have some production value in a film. If I want to see a documentary I will, but this was not classified as a documentary. I think that movies which are acted in a documentary fashion should be classified in a whole new genre and if we had such a genre then, yes, I would call it a great film within that genre.
