Is that description on the cover art serious? I'm all for dark comedy but there was absolutely nothing & I mean nothing funny about this film. Was it supposed to be funny when the docs were concerned with trivial things while poor Lazarescu is dying ? I searched for the comedy but I just wanted to cry the whole time.

I completely with you. I don't read about films before I watch them, but I guess I saw that so I was expecting a dark comedy. Instead I felt sorry for Lazarescu the whole time, while trying to figure out if this was critiquing Romanian health, all health services, youthful arrogance, criticisms of light drinking or if it was simply meant to be an emotionally impactful movie. Of course to me it was all of these, but if it was a dark comedy it was by far the darkest I've ever seen!
