uh, OW? what moron designed those subtitles? Usually Tartan's Releases are great, but these bright bubble-letter subtitles are so hard on the eyes. It's difficult to read them and watch the picture simultaneously. Why couldn't they do a normal yellow placed in the black letterbox?!

Yes yes yes, those subtitles were ridiculous... I felt like I had a headache everytime Lazarescu did.
sharewell i think the best way to subtitle a movie is a simple white subtitles without any box behind. this is what my dvd had, which is great. i hate those ugly looking yellow subtitles we often see in movies though.

Interesting that somebody else would complain about the appearance of the subtitles. My complaint instead is how poor the translation was. You really didn't miss a whole lot (other than a headache:-).
