His performance was without doubt the best performance i've ever seen a child give - although the kid is obviously talented we have Kim Rossi to thank for this.

He didn't give the kid a script; just explained the scenes and how he was supposed to feel within it. Natural reaction created the magic.

Two scenes stood out for me:

The moment his father lost his temper in the bank; the kids reaction was so extraodinary it couldn't have been rehersed; a shock so pure it pierced my soul.

the second, and the most remarkable scene in the film for me, was when Tommi was being teased by his sister in the car; she was touching his face and messing with his hair constantly until Tommi snapped and screamed the word 'slut' at her. Tommi's father hit him accross the face.

Again, the kids reaction was utterly perfect; he didn't cower or get angry, he simply displayed his disbelief at what his father had done the way any kid would if he had never been hit before (and whether or not the character had, i don't think the boy ever has) and i don't have the words to describe it. Then he burst into tears.

I realy think the director didn't tell the kid he was going to hit him; just did it and filmed the reaction - it provided us with the best performance from a child ever captured on film, in my opinion, but i'm not sure if i like the method; like poor Alessandro was the directors experiment and we were all behind the one-way mirror.

Meh, i loved this film too much to care.

I just saw this film yesterday at the public TV channel in Argentina. I find his acting remarkable. He had a great character to act and did it very believable.

indeed he was great :)

Wonderful, natural performance - he had that blank but watchful look that children have when they are in a potentially volatile situation. Great credit to the director for getting this out of the boy without losing any of his inate charm.

thumbs up to him- he reminded me of Cameron Bright http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1080974/ but more natural and sombre

He was really good, he looks like my little brother.
I had to think about my little brother all the time. also because my little brothers / sister's and my life looks like a bit like the story in the movie. I can completely understand this movie because I've experienced the same things like the kids in this movie did.

This movie is 10/10!
It shows you how family's can be when they're broken.
