Didn't do much for me (probably some spoilers)
First of all, I've never seen the original, but after watching this I might just have to do that.
I have a love/hate relationship with horror movies. Some freak me out to the point I have trouble sleeping afterward. Some I laugh through (Paranormal Activity comes to mind). I really like Zombie movies for some reason, probably because Romero sort of set the stage for how to make a great Zombie flick. I wouldn't say I'm a connoisseur of horror movies. The only time I like to watch them is around Halloween...what better time than this? The last 2 Halloweens have been severely disappointing as far as my selection of movies, which have all been on suggestions from friends or based on box-office sales. Definitely not going this route anymore.
This movie did nothing for me. There were no scary scenes. Each time the heroes were in peril, Deputy Got-Your-Back was always there to save the day (lame). I hated the fact that Sherrif Good Guy (yeah, didn't even like it enough to remember anyone's name) contaminated himself with the blood of a Crazy and didn't catch the infection.
The cast was so-so. I've only seen Tim Olyphant in Dreamcatcher and the few episodes of Samantha Who (my brother raves on about Justified) so I don't have much to compare, but I wasn't impressed at all with his acting in this movie.
I'm sorry, but for a horror movie this wasn't very good. The premise was pretty cool but the delivery fell short. I understand that some people liked it but it's just not for me.
What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say.
