I just watched it for the first time since 2010.
The other Romero remake that was infinitely better: Zach Snyder's Dawn of the Dead.
Even when the acting was spotty, Joe Anderson picked up the slack.
Joe Anderson killed it, man. I wish he was in it slightly longer.
I watched it for the first time since its theatrical release today myself. I just watched the original yesterday. I actually think the original and this movie are equally good. The original focuses more on how the military and doctors try to contain the virus, while the remake focuses more on the average, everyday people and how the community reacts to the virus. So I think they both complement each other nicely by focusing mainly on different aspects of the same story.
