They didn't shy away from the topic of rape at all! (SPOILERS)

I read some other posts on here and people obviously didn't watch this entire TV Show properly. They DID acknowledge the reality of prison rape. Season 1 especially! T-Bag tried it on with Michael, but it wasn't extreme, T-bag also threatened to rape Tweener and tried to intimidate him by singing a song like "i'm coming for you" or something like that and Tweener was crying his eyes out in his cell, Tweener got repeatedly raped by a big massive cellmate later on in series 1, T-Bag nearly raped a rookie C.O, a young male prisoner committed suicide because T-Bag was sexually abusing him regularly.

It all sounds morbid, but i just wanted to make that point because some silly people on this board said that this show was scared about the topic of rape, which obviously it wasn't. If you're talking about actual scenes, American TV Shows don't generally show actual rape scenes, strong implications is more than enough, there's no need to patronise the viewers.

the main complaints were that the implied rape was all very tame compared to Oz.

there were a lot of comparisons to Oz back when season 1 debuted and how PB wasn't as hardcore as it.

I used to be indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.

Wasn't Oz on HBO though? Of course it'd be more graphic

Yes and they didn't shy away from showing privates. A lot of people thought it was hot but a lot of stuff I thought was pretty disgusting.
