Leather face and his family decide to take a road trip through the 'hills'. How would this scenario play out?

That's a good question though. I've only seen pieces of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Did they eat human flesh? I think that might be the great divider.

Interesting premise, OP. Kudos.

How would this scenario play out?

Leatherface's family would have got massacred. Leatherface is the only strong one in that family. He does all of the heavylifting. His relatives merely piggyback off of his work.

As for Leatherface himself, he'd be quite hard for the mutants to takedown. But IMO they could do it by overwhelming him with sheer force of numbers.

Which group are we talking about? The original trio from Tobe Hooper's movie or the Hewitt family from the Platinum Dunes remake?

The mutants in this would fuck up the original group. Leatherface is the only one of the three who would do some damage but by himself he'd not be enough.

The remake group is much stronger, partly because Leatherface is beefier and more controlled (that Leatherface would butcher the original one) but mainly because Sheriff Hoyt is a mean son of a bitch and the best backup for Leatherface out of these two movies. Leatherface and Hoyt would take several mutants down for sure. Monty would do fuck all in his wheelchair and Luda May would be useless.

Depends on the weaponry, the element of surprise and tactics, but Hoyt with his gun would go a long way to helping the Hewitts potentially survive.
