Black Falcon goes out like a punk

All those dogfights, and he ends up getting it practically at point-blank range from a simple handgun?

That's gotta bite. No more than he deserved, but still.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I know you wrote this forever ago, but I still wanted to reply: damn straight he did! I was so annoyed that Cassidy didn't shoot his face full of holes before he died, and I was practically screaming at Rawlings until he finally did. It was somewhat corny, but awesome.

Why settle with words what you can settle with a flamethrower?

we'll keep this thread going..there was something really satisfying about the baron getting it with a gun. they build up alot of revenge sentiment somehow.

I watched with my best friend who had seen it. I was yelling for Rawlings to use his gun. He did!

You can see the look of shock in this, likely rich boy pilot, when he is suddenly faced with his own death----from a pilot who had a busted gun, no allies nearby, a plane cut to ribbons, and who had been shot---not to mention farm boy. Great shot!

I also felt it was great because the Black Falcon kind of gave him the "It's over, I have beaten you!" look with the cutting throat gesture.

You see the Black Falcon and his ultra cool yoke slipping away, his lifeless body slipping, and see his pilotless plane losing control. This plane and man who have destroyed allies for Cassidy, Rawlings, and the squadron get his as his plane spins into the ground, spun in to explosion.

Interesting trivia: Cassidy taunts Rawlings cowboy background questioning and taunting his six-shooter won't do him any good up there.

It would've been more effective of a scene if they showed him using a handgun back on his ranch in Texas. In fact, before they mounted machine guns onto the planes, the pilots tried shooting at each other with handguns or a co-pilot would use a shotgun.
