They were provoking him by calling him monkey and making gestures. In the final score, Santos won 2-0 and the referee ignored the case in his notebook.

As a result, Gremio might be ejected from Copa do Brasil.
This is pretty sad news. I had good hopes after watching this movie, but reality isn´t always the same.

Goalkeeper in Brazil targeted in racist taunt
Associated Press
SAO PAULO (AP) — Santos goalkeeper Aranha says he was the target of racist taunts by Gremio supporters during a Brazilian Cup match.
Aranha said the fans chanted racist slurs behind his goal toward the end of Santos' 2-0 win at the Arena Gremio on Thursday in Porto Alegre.
Television images appeared to show a woman yelling "monkey" from the stands.
Aranha complained and the match was briefly interrupted. He made monkey gestures as he talked to the referee.
At one stage he turned toward the fans and touched his right arm, saying "I'm proud to be black."
The goalkeeper later said the taunts "hurt" and he hoped "this is a warning so it doesn't happen again."
Gremio coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was ejected from the field at halftime for complaining to the referee.
