Why not film in Wrigley Field?

The only National League ballpark still in existence from 1947 is Wrigley Field in Chicago. Why didn't they film there? If they couldn't rent the park, then why no computer generation of Wrigley?

By the way, I loved the computer generations of the other ballparks. Having seen plenty of photos of them, they were very accurate and believable.

Because the Cubs SUCK! and nobody wants to see that place. GO CARDINALS!!!!!

Honestly it would probably have cost a fortune to rent out the space. Not to mention they would still have to edit out the lights and scoreboards. It's just cheaper to use green screen to recreate the old parks. I was hoping to see Sportsman's park too.

It was a great movie though overall.

Just watched the DVD and came over to visit. I grew up near Wrigley Field. It looks nothing like it did in 1947.

On top of that, they filmed the movie while the baseball season was in progress and Wrigley Field was being used. Even if they'd wanted to use Wrigley, there's no way they could've.
