Does anyone else think Clays film actually looked pretty interesting?

Well?

i thought it looked like it might be quite intelligent and thought provoking.

I got the impression it would become extremely monotonous after just a few minutes. The continual narration, with someone talking about himself, would be mind-numbing.

No thank you.

I would love for a PlayBack Time movie to be made! Of course I probably could not take it seriously, would really just be a crack up the whole way through, even though it is supposed to be a very emotional, driven story of truth and pain, just the complete ignorance makes the idea of the movie hiliarious!

But seriously I say for the whole film to be shot, just a 90 minute film of narrative about heartbreak.

It reminds me of the commercial of Chanel No.5 by Brad Pitt just recently broadcast.

It reminds me of things that havn't happened yet too ;P

Something or other...

reply

Yes!

I actually found it hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it in the cinema, especially 'Carson Clay presents. Carson Clay in a Carson Clay film' but I would like to watch it!

The world is your lobster.

It would have been funny if they'd had the complete Playback as as an extra.

Om Shanti

Oh god how I would love a full cut of Playback Time.

There were some prop posters made for Playback Time. You can see it in the Cavaillon train station that Bean and Stepan get chased out of. You can see it at 28:50, immediately after Bean tries to beg. There are two more at 1:16:42, at the Cannes Film Festival.

Anyone knows the song that you hear while playing the Playback Time movie?

reply

I was one of the few of my friends that found the Playback Time sequence hilarious. A humour that can't be explained really.
I too was hoping for a spin off of some sort or a full feature of it.

The closest we can get is Terrence Malicks Knight of Cups movie.

reply

I don't think so. I have the feeling listening to him talk all the time in voice over would bore the Cannes audience.
