The sequels have such a different tone than the first..

The first film had an adult touch with some grit. The second film increasingly became more geared toward children exclusively and the third.. right into kid land. Truly tragic.

The "Evil Claus" was about the stupid thing I've ever seen. It completely ruined the franchise.

The tone is different, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The sequels are entertaining in their own way.

Personally, I never cared for the sequels very much.
