IMO, Santa Clause 3 is terribly bad.
I have seen many, many films- and SC3 is easily one of the worst. The first film was an excellent mechanism for Tim Allen and it was funny, charming, and heart-warming. The second film, though a little less impressive, was still fun. I did think that part 2 went too far with the Disney-style elements ans thus took away much of the magic and originality of the first entry. However, it was still a funny film, and still maintained the charm of the original film.
SC3 is absolutely atrocious. ALL of the magic is gone! The North Pole doesn't seem like much fun anymore, Bernard is completely absent. There is no excuse or explaination for his absence. Martin Short, who could have pulled this film up on it's feet, is completely lacking in material (obviously because of the bad script). The "one liners" never work. The whole film feels like a cheap- DTV Disney sequel. To say the series went gradually downhill would be an overstatement. I could not believe my eyes when I read positive reviews for this film on the "User Comments" section of imdb.
The Santa Clause: great fun!
The Santa Claus 2: good family fun!
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause: absolute unfun/unfunny trash, 1/10
