Does anyone else think . . .

Does anyone else think that this series turned from a sort-of adult orriented family movie series into a little kids' series?

reply

I sort of agree there.

The first one was a more "serious" take on the fantasy of Santa and Christmas. It was a little silly in some places like "a polar bear directing traffic" (Which we didn't actually see) and flying elves with metal-cutting tinsel. But it wasn't over the top fantasy. Most elements of the original were very realistic.

But then....Santa Clause 2 (Which I love too)

SC2 just completely changed directions on us. There was a bit of realism with the whole courtship of the principal and relationship with his son; but also the extreme fantastical inclusion of the Easter Bunny, Cupid, Mother nature, Father Time, Sandman and their antics.

And finally....Santa Clause 3 (Also love)

This one just loses all sense of reality.

Christmas is about fantasy. Hopes and dreams. These movies bring a lot to children, whom the movies were made for. What can be more fantastic than a polar bear directing traffic?

It's just that the first one was more like a family movie.

The second turned kinda little kiddish but still somewhat enjoyable for the parents.

But the third one was completely childish. Not for the famiy, just for the little kids.

I know exactly what you mean. I always thought the movies changed in some way but you put my finger on it
