I think it's interesting that Peter Boyle plays Scott's boss in the first film and Father Time in the sequels. Are we to assume that his boss somehow transformed into Father Time a la The Santa Clause in between movies?

Or maybe, knowing Scott's destiny, Father Time was watching over him, under cover? A bit like the elves we see all around in the first movie :-)
